The WNC Career Expo is set to take place on Wednesday, April 17 at the Western North Carolina Agricultural Center in Fletcher. Organized by the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Mountain Area Workforce Development Board, this event aims to provide a platform for career seekers in Western North Carolina to connect with potential employers.
The expo will feature various employers from industries such as advanced manufacturing and health care. Job seekers will have the opportunity to engage with these companies, with several employers offering on-the-spot employment offers to qualified candidates.
In addition to connecting with potential employers, the WNC Career Expo will offer free services to job seekers in need of career readiness support. NCWorks Career Centers experts will be available on-site to provide interview preparation assistance and resume reviews at no cost.
The expo will also provide an opportunity for over 250 high school students from regional schools to explore different career paths and employment options. Students from schools in Asheville City, Buncombe County, Madison County, Henderson County, and Transylvania County will participate in the student portion of the event, sponsored by Pratt & Whitney and UNC Health Pardee.
A diverse range of companies and organizations have registered to participate in the WNC Career Expo. Employers include AAA The Auto Club Group, Aflac of Western North Carolina, Biltmore Farms, LLC, NCWorks Asheville/Buncombe, and many more. A complete list of participating employers can be found on the event’s official website.
