WNC Food Scene: Hillman Beer Turns 7, New Beer Releases at White Labs Springtoberfest

Hillman Beer is ringing in their 7th anniversary this weekend and there will be lots of good food at the WNC Farmers Market Spring Festival. White Labs Springtoberfest Spring is well underway here in the mountains and White Labs is celebrating. They’ll be releasing new lagers and a spring menu during their Springtoberfest on Saturday.

White Labs Celebrates Spring with New Menu and Lagers

A new salad made with fresh greens, herbs, and asparagus will be on the menu at White Labs Springtoberfest. Also, a new pizza with an herb ricotta base, prosciutto, made with their signature dough fermented for 72 hours. Two new spring lagers will be released, offering homebrewers inspiration for yeast comparisons and beer replication. Eddi Sparks, White Labs General Manager, mentioned the shared beer data available on their website for enthusiasts to explore and experiment with.

WNC Farmers Market Spring Festival

The WNC Farmers Market is celebrating the season with their spring festival, offering a plant sale, local food shops, and food vendors on site. The free three-day festival running from Friday to Sunday will feature a huge plant sale with nearly 50 diverse growers, food trucks, and vendors like Hit the Pit BBQ, Purple People Feeder, and Blunt Pretzels. A ramp cookoff on Saturday will also take place with local restaurants competing.

Hillman Beer Celebrates 7th Anniversary

It’s a big weekend for Hillman Beer as they celebrate their seventh anniversary with live music and a new beer release called Stairway to Seven, an India Pale Lager. The light and crisp brew with hoppy notes was developed through a creative naming process involving staff suggestions and selecting hops based on song lyrics. The anniversary beer will be available until stocks run out.
